Kristen Anne Bell is an American actress and performer born in 1980. She was born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) - and Tom Bell - a television director. She is an American singer and actress. Her mother is Polish and her father is German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen discovered her talents within the industry of entertainment at a young age. In 1992, she went to her first audition and won the role of Raggedy Ann and Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency just before her 13th birthday. She later appeared on television commercials as well as newspaper ads. Also, she began private acting classes around the age of 13. Bell had a minor role without credit on the film Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School where she took part in musical and drama clubs. When her school staged a stage production The Wizard of Oz, Bell won the role of Dorothy. Bell went to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater after graduation. Bell was a graduate in 2001, decided to leave her studies at the university to play her role as Becky on Tom Sawyer. The same year she appeared in Pootie Tang However, the sequence in which she appeared was cut. This meant that there is only a credit sequence. The year 2002 saw her first major role. Bell was on the Broadway version of The Crucible with Liam Neeson as well as Angela Bettis.
